Check if AI Understands Your Brand: Prompt Set for ChatGPT and Gemini

Two prompt sets to check what AI says about your brand, how to read the results and the limits of a manual check.

Check if AI Understands Your Brand: Prompt Set for ChatGPT and Gemini

The first step in AI Branding is knowing what AI currently says about your brand. This article gives two prompt sets for a quick self-audit on ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Each system has its own data and retrieval, so run the same question set on every system and compare.

Entity Check prompt set

Ask AI: "What is [Brand] and who founded it?" or "Where is [Brand] based?". If the answer is wrong, confuses the brand with another, or says there is no information, information about the brand may be weak, missing or contradictory across sources.

Advanced prompt: "List verified information about [Brand] including website, social media and main areas of activity. Cite sources if possible."

Visibility Check prompt set

Ask questions that do not contain your brand name but belong to your industry: "What are the top 3 reputable [industry] services in [region]?" or "Who should I choose to implement [solution]?".

If competitors appear and you do not, look at which sources mention them (news, industry blogs, Wikidata) that you lack.

How to read the results

  • ◆Wrong information: find which source says it (an old profile, a page with the same name) and fix it at that source.
  • ◆No information: add a page that defines the brand and Organization data, see What is a Brand Entity.
  • ◆Competitors appear, you do not: compare the cited sources and fill the gaps.
  • ◆AI answers can differ between runs: run each question a few times and record the date, the system and the answer.

This is a manual check, not an official measurement. For ongoing tracking, see What is LLM Visibility.
